LUVNTRAVLN'S DIARY SUMMARY - FROM TODAY TO YESTERDAY -
2004 through 2007
June - 31 December 2007: Perth, WA to the Gold Coast, QLD - Part One

The trip from Perth to the Gold Coast was a blast! Highlights include The Horizontal Waterfall our of Derby, and Jak's Diamond Jubilee in Kununurra, barra fishing at Wooliana,

visiting with Jak's father and his partner Florence, and the purchase in Kakadu of a painting for our new caravan.

This painting will be mounted on the refrigerator door - you can see it and lots more about our new home by clicking Our Home at the bottom of the page.
June - 31 December 2007: Perth, WA to the Gold Coast, QLD - Part Two
Clearly the highlight was our diving on Spoil Sport out of Cairns. We also had a great time with Jackie's father Norman and his friend Florence. They spent a week with us in Darwin.

Another highlight was our week at Hinchinbrook Island with 60 naturists organized by TAN magazine.
On the other hand, perhaps the highlight of highlights was picking up our new home - our 25' Boroma!
April - June 2007: Thailand to Laos to the USA

The highlight of our week in Thailand was going scuba diving off of Koh Tao
A Taste of Laos turned out to be more than a "taste" when unexpectedly we were invited to participate in our guide's cousin's wedding - fantastic!
We also visited The Plain of Jars - one of the "wonders of the world" and the scene of secret American bombing during the Vietnam War.
Hmong Girls climbing on one of the jars at Site 1

After Laos we were off to the USA to visit with Jay's family and to do the touristy thing with a visit to Disneyland, to spend a week in Las Vegas,

a week++ at Bryce and Zion National Parks,

and our conclusion in Los Angeles with visits to The Getty Museum, Universal Studios,
and to satisfy Jak's Pretty Woman "itch" we had lunch at the Beverly-Wilshire Hotel at
Wilshire Boulevard and Rodeo Drive where the film was shot - a very touristy month!!
April 2007: Kangaroo Island, SA to Broken Hill, NSW

Our trip to Kangaroo Island was actually a side-trip enroute to Broken Hill to attend the wedding of Jackie's nephew Daniel Jackman.

Mr. and Mrs. Kendall and
Daniel Jackman
January - March 2007: Perth, WA

These few months are clearly highlighted by the consumption of music, wine, food, and
learning to play golf (you didn't really think there would be pictures of a couple of hackers, did you?).
November - 31 December 2006: Perth, WA

We settled into a long stay in Perth, flew to Brisbane for two birthday parties and to design our new home, and returned to Perth in time for Jak's daughter Lyndsey and her husband Tane to join us for a great long weekend of drinking, eating, and golf.
Mid-way through December we left Perth and went to Busselton for the Xmas and New Years' holidays with our friends the Wards.
September - November 2006: Broome, WA to Perth, WA

That's right!
Warner Bros. Movie World!! Read on to find out why we are on the Gold Coast when we are supposed to be traveling from Broome to Perth.
After our quick trip to the Gold Coast, we returned to WA and again went to Karajini NP to meet our friends Dave & Liz Ward.
Enroute to Perth we also stopped in Millstream NP, Exmouth, Kalbarri, Geraldton, Jurien and Nambung NP, Bunbury, and Bridgetown for the Blues Festival.
August - September 2006: Bali, Indonesia
Not being someone to pass up a good deal, we saw super deals in the paper ex-Broome and off we went for two weeks.
We were at the Hilton (now the Ayodaya) and enjoyed the ambiance very much.
In addition to the usual touristy things, we practiced, took lessons, and played golf.
Now, on the tee .......................
July - August 2006: Carnarvon, WA to Broome, WA

What a life not being on a schedule! We went to 80 Mile Beach for a couple of days and stay for almost two weeks: working on this web site, fishing, and generally hanging out.
Next, a week in Broome where among other places we visited the clothing options section of Cable Beach (there are a couple of pics in the Naturist Life Style folder) - then, off to Bali.
This was a magical trip! After two days in Kuala Lumpur we flew to Kota Kinabalu for ten days of dining, diving (Jackie completed her Advance course), and touring - including viewing the orangutans at the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre.

From KK we flew to Brunei and entered - what turned out to be for us - five days in Fairyland.
We stayed at a magical place: The Empire Hotel and Country Club and from the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty.

As we move on down the road in our new Boroma, and travel to new places and countries, we have removed old images from June 2004 through June 2006 to make room for new images. Should you require for your research the images that have been removed from a particular page, please contact us and we upload the those images for a couple of weeks.
June 2006: Tamala Station, WA to Carnarvon, WA

Everyone departed and we spent a magical
week all alone converting this bay into the
Tamala Station Naturist Retreat.
There are "textile" pics through this link; there are
naturist pics in the Naturist Lifestyle section.

20 June 2006
7 May: Lambert Center -
The Geographical Center of Australia
February - April 2006: Melbourne, VIC to Byron Bay, NSW
We spent six weeks in Melbourne during which time we had a fabulous post-wedding party,
took golf lessons, visited with reles and friends, and found time for Jay to have bi-lateral arthroscopic surgery on his knees!
Enroute to meet our friends in Byron Bay for the infamous East-West crossing (next Diary entry),
we stopped in the Hunter Valley for golf and wine tasting,
and went to the Byron Bay Blues & Roots Festival.
February 2006: USA - San Francisco to San Diego

After a most amazing wedding week, we drove from San Francisco to San Diego - the slow route! We meandered along the coast so that Jak could enjoy what a "real" coastline is like. Unfortunately, in Australia, the roads tend to run parallel, and inland to the coast, only going out to the coast to the various coastal towns.

We went to San Diego to visit with, and celebrate my brother's 60th Birthday, and to enjoy a taste of real Mexican food in Old Town, San Diego.

One raspberry margarita was enough!
Of course, our Sudoku's books are not
far away these days.
November - February 2006: Melbourne, VIC
Well this period in our life has hardly begun and we are announcing our marriage!

We look forward to our marriage on 12 February 2006
in San Francisco, California.
February 2006: USA - San Francisco Wedding Week
We flew to SF and visited with Robyn, Jay's eldest daughter, and then off to Sonoma for a four-day prewedding honeymoon. We then returned to SF, went to the international airport to ostensibly pickup Jay's brother and sister-in-law, and guess what (?), Lyndsey, Jackie's daughter was also at the curb waiting for us!. Jackie was so surprised that they heard her scream "Lyndsey" all the way back to Melbourne.

Wedding week was absolutely positively and
beyond a shadow of a doubt a perfect week!
August - October 2005: Toyota Country Music Muster, QLD to Maldon Folk Music Festival, VIC
The 2004 Muster was so much fun that we traveled to the 2005 Muster; the 2004 BOG Rally was so much fun that we traveled to the 2005 Rally; we conclude by attending the Maldon Festival.
In between these events we expand our exploration into naturism with visits to several naturist resorts - Elephant Rock Naturally, Three Waters Au Naturel Bush Retreat, Running Bare Nudist Rural Retreat, and River Valley Naturist Resort - and, in Toowoomba, a naturist bush walk on private property open to the public. We are hooked!

Jay's daughters Robyn and Jamie
were involved in an automobile
accident; one week later we were
in Bumrungrad Hospital, Bangkok,
Thailand; today, all ok.
Off we go; never a dull moment!
May - June 2005: Cape York, QLD
The trip to Cape York with our friends TassiTracker5 and Gadget1 (their Bushtracker Owners Group "handles") validated why we purchased a caravan to live in and travel in full-time.
When you have a love of the outdoors to the extent that you are willing to make a substantial investment in a caravan and 4WD tow vehicle, and you interact with people that have made a similar investment to experience a similar life style, that becomes the common denominator that binds you together regardless of your work, education, or financial situation.
March - April 2005: Stephanie's Wedding, COFFS HARBOUR, NSW to Glenreagh Naturist Getaway, NSW

To Coffs for Jak's niece's wedding; a brief stop at the Canberra National Folk Music Festival;
AND for the first time we venture into the world of naturism (nudism) at Glenreagh Naturist Getaway, NSW, experience the unbelievable freedom from textiles, find ourselves converted for life, and photographed and featured in:
The Australian Naturist magazine.
December - February 2005: Tasmania
Jak's leap on the tree sums up how much
we enjoyed Tasmania.
The state was great even if the fishing sucked!
September - November 2004: Bushtracker Owners Group Rally, NSW
We started with the 2nd Annual Bushtracker Owners Group rally at Copeton Waters State Park, NSW.
We had previously arranged for a private off-road driving course;

next we went to Lightning Ridge in search of opals,
and then to The Great Western Plains Zoo.

September 2004: Jak's 50th in Hawaii
Jak's first visit to the USA was two weeks in Hawaii for her 50th b-day.
She met Jay's daughters Robyn and Jamie for the first time.
We visited Maui and Kauai; enjoyed the sun, water, and lots of food.
Dad, Jak, Robyn and Jamie
June - August 2004: Nerum Bush Retreat, QLD
to the Toyota Country Music Muster, QLD

At Nerum Creek Bush Retreat we shared our first experience living in a box on four wheel with our friends - The Magnanis. From there we traveled to the Gold Coast to visit with Jak's sister.
Next we did a one-day off-road course to begin learning
the "ins and outs" of Big Red.
In August we attended The Toyota Country Music Muster for two weeks in the
bush without power or water - totally
self-sufficient - and many
many days of enjoyable music.
Fantastic experience
